Aim

The Hizen Foundation is a charity set up for the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the benefit of the inhabitants of Inner London by the provision of facilities for learning kendo (Japanese fencing) and other similar sports. The Foundation was formed in 2004 by four members of the kendo club of the same name (www.hizen.info/).

The Foundation is a non-political organisation aiming to fulfil its Aims and Objectives for members, irrespective of nationality, religion, culture, race, gender, disability, or other differences:

  1. To promote and encourage the knowledge and practice of traditional Japanese fencing (Kendo).
  1. To strengthen and encourage bonds of friendship amongst members and with other practitioners world-wide.
  1. To co-ordinate activities and arrange the dissemination of information amongst members.
  1. To treat its members according to the precepts of common courtesy, respect, and justice as set out in the Human Rights Act (1998).
